The Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) is as training and assessment methodology characterized by a performance orientation, emphasis on standards of performance and related measurement, and development of training to the required performance standards.

The goal of competency-based training and assessment is to provide a competent workforce to ensure a safe and efficient air transportation system.
​
The CBTA methodology is based on robust course design, instructor qualification and data collection to continuously enhance training efficiency and effectiveness.
​
The CBTA is nowadays seen within the Aviation industry as a better way to develop a competent workforce when compared to the traditional task- or hours-based training and checking.
​
This course will provide the the necessary tools and methodologies to successfully implement a functioning and effective CBTA program within the Approved Training Organisations as required by Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011.
Objectives
Get familiar with the CBTA the related principles and methodologies and its implementation in accordance with the requirements laid out in Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011.

The trainee will learn about the practical application on the principles and philosophies of Competency-Based Training and Assessment, in addition to guidance on its implementation as well as its continuing oversight.

Certification
